Marie L. Heironimus (Rush) 91 of Winchester VA passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at The Willows at Meadow Branch. Marie was born in Winchester, VA, the daughter of Willie L. and Mary Crider Rush.

She graduated from John Handley HS in 1953. She studied Piano and Pipe Organ at the Market Street Methodist Church under Mrs. May Carper. She worked in the Main Office of National Fruit from 1953-1965 and in the office part-time for WTRM Radio from 1987-1997. Marie was Organist at Montague Avenue Methodist Church for 14 years and sang and played Piano with The Sunergo Quartet from 1972-1982. She also played Piano and Organ for Weddings and Events around the area as well as substituting at many Churches in the area as needed.

In Sept. of 1961, Marie married Mitchell O. Heironimus at Braddock Street Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy L. Heironimus and her son, Mitchell “Mike” Heironimus II. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1:00pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service from 12-1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, VA.
