Jeff, Lindsey and Kate-- I'm still in a state of shock, as you 3 are, as I've known Marie all of her life. I've thought of our friendship (she was my best friend in Nanuet) growing up. Her father used to call her moose the goose and I was Bess the mess. Here is a little story of Marie that I shared with Lindsey. Marie was a very independent person from the time she could walk. She definitely had the mothers on Brookside Drive on their toes as Marie would leave her house by herself, no doubt (at the age of 3) and toddle herself to our house at the end of the street (good thing the street was quiet and a cul-de-sec). She had an adventerous spirit to her and was always on the go, an "it's my way or no way" attitude. Marie and I planned a party before we moved to Richmond, VA (very dangerous to allow a 10 and 11 year old plan a party), candy and more candy. No wonder Chickie was cross-eyed most of the time! She's now on her biggest adventure. She will be watching over the people she loved and for the people who loved her, we will miss that New York part irish don't cross me and don't mess with my family attitude. I'm just a couple hour drive, phone call, e-mail or facebook message away. Love always, Beth Thomas
