MARGUERITE DELORES McDANIEL
Marguerite D. McDaniel, 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her home in Winchester, Virginia. She was born December 4, 1928, to the late Otis Loring and Ada Levenia Mauzy of Gore, Virginia. She was married in 1947 to Raymond McDaniel, who preceded her in death in 1994. Marguerite was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and a member of the Hebron Baptist Church at Gore and the Ladies Auxiliary at Winchester Moose Lodge . She spent most of her career working in retail and retired from Leggetts Department Store in Winchester and later from Crown Cork and Seal. Before her illness, she was an avid bingo player and enjoyed the camaraderie of local bingo games.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon A. Evelin and husband Harvey K. of Mt. Airy, Maryland; her son Terry L. McDaniel and wife Martha of Paw Paw, West Virginia; one granddaughter Stacey L. Brown and husband Donald of New Market, Maryland; and three great granddaughters Tori Leigh, Megan and Morgan Brown of New Market. Also surviving are two step-granddaughters Samatha Shambaugh and Marlena Ryan and husband John of Paw Paw, West Virginia; and five step-grandchildren, Breanna, Savannah and Levi Shambaugh; and Rebecca and Lizabeth Ryan.
Marguerite is preceded in death by two sisters Virginia Renner and husband Robert; Irene Rhodes and husband Woodrow; and one brother Paul Mauzy and wife Myrtle.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 9 at 11:00 am at Omps Funeral Home, Amherest Street, in Winchester with the Rev. George Reed officiating. Interment will be held privately at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester. The family will receive friends and family at Omps Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service.
