My favorite memory of Grandma Kerns would've been when I would go to her house and she would always give me a stuffed animal. I still have all of them, and now when I look at them, they have much more meaning.

When I was driving grandma to a doctor visit after her gallbladder surgery a few years ago she was talking about Grandad Jack... "he could be meaner than a snake back then... But now he is easy going...he has that problem with his mind...oh what do you call it?..." She was referring to dementia (Alzheimer's) but she could not think of the word. This was after we had known for a while that she had dementia. It was funny, the pot calling the kettle black. --Jackelyn granddaughter
