Margaret Lockhart Umbenour, 91, of Stephenson, VA, left us and went to be with her family and her Lord on March 23, 2024. She was born July 20, 1932, and was the first-born child of the late Charles “Buck” E. Lockhart Sr. and Evelyn (Jones) Lockhart.

Margaret worked alongside her husband Max for many years at their business Max’s TV Sales and Service in Winchester. As Max said, she was not only the receptionist and accountant, but he would fondly call her “The Boss” because of all she did. She was a member of the Winchester Church of God, and she absolutely loved her church family and was always willing to help with church events by assisting with catering and providing food for those events. She enjoyed collecting fine glass, especially liking the colored glass, as well as tea sets. Margaret was a member of the Winchester Bottle Club. She always looked forward to the times she and her husband shared on their property at the Shenandoah River with family and friends.

She married Max J. Umbenour on December 19, 1970, and they have enjoyed over 53 years of marriage.

In addition to her beloved husband Max, Margaret is also survived by her two daughters Linda Allamong (Steve) and Robin Dillow (Donnie); her sons Bracky Dunlap (Debra), Jeff Dunlap (Robin), Kevin Dunlap (Angie) and Tracy Umbenour (Michelle) and her “5^th” son Joe Butts; grandchildren J.D., Chris, Shawn, Skipper, Jeffrey, Danyelle and Julia; step grandchildren Loretta, Sheena, Mark, Danielle, Sarah, Jessica and Mindy; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Her sister Carol Payne; and her brothers Sonny, Frank, and Michael Lockhart.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Lisa Young and four brothers George, Robert, Phillip, and Lyle Lockhart.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Thursday, March 28, from 11:00am until her Funeral Service at 12noon at the Winchester Church of God, 2080 N. Frederick Pike, Winchester. Her dear friend and Pastor Kent Woodward will be celebrating the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive UMC Cemetery, Winchester.

Pallbearers will be J.D., Chris, Shawn, Jeffrey, Jonah, and Greg.
