Margaret Ashby Jenkins

               Margaret Ashby Jenkins, age 80, of Middletown, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

               Mrs. Jenkins was born in 1934 in Clarke County, VA, the daughter of the late Osborne M. and Edith J. Ashby.   She attended Clarke County High School.  Margaret was a nurse’s aide at the Winchester Medical Center for many years and was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Stephens City, VA.

               Margaret married Jacob M. Jenkins on June 12, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD.

               Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughter, Edith “Edie” Jenkins and husband, Bobby; her son, Manuel W. Jenkins; a grandson, Matthew W. Jenkins and wife, Bobbie; sisters, Joyce Golighty, Edith “Tina” Allen; and a brother Richard “Dickie” Ashby, and Roxie her grand dog.

               Preceding her in death are a sister, Annamae Luttrell, brother, John S. Ashby, and an infant sister and brother.

               The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Omps Amherst Chapel. 

               A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Omps Amherst Chapel with Pastor John E. Lock officiating.  Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA.

Pallbearers will be Bud Allen, Kauner Micheal, Larry Hedrick, Mitch Shumaker, Larry Merritt and Rudy Root.

               Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, 1132 Double Church Rd., Stephens City, VA  22655 or to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Suite 405, Winchester, VA  22601.
