Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this stressful time. We fondly remember Marie and Homer as neighbors as we grew up in the White Shop community. I remember so often getting hurt and Mama bringing us to Marie for a medical opinion as to whether we needed a trip to the doctor or not. I know you will miss her, but you have many, many memories to sustain you. Debbie (Corbin) Settle

Aunt Marie is my GREAT aunt since she is my grandma's sister. However, she has always been much more than GREAT to me. I treasured our relationship and have always been so thankful that we were as close as we were despite living so far apart. I enjoyed trips to her house to visit her on the farm, a place she loved! When I was pregnant, she often called me to see how I was doing. After my two children were born, she also called to check in on them and me. She would inquire about their growth and what stages of development they were at. She and I enjoyed talking on the phone to each other, since we didn't get to see each other often. My Aunt Marie was a thoughtful, kind, and caring person. She always put others before herself. She was a wonderful listener. I am very sad that I could not be there today to wish her a fond farewell. I will always hold her close in my thoughts. My thoughts and prayers are with Charles, Nancy and their families during this difficult time.

Sending my sympathy and prayers for strength on the loss of your mom, Nancy--and family....I have such fond memories of Mrs. Pettie when the girls were little and she was the best grandmother...she truly loved her family and was a wonderful Southern lady. I know you will miss her very much. Faith Dickerson (Culpeper)
