M. Martressa Martin Zuckerman, 88, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Martressa was born in 1928 in Riverton, Virginia, the daughter of the late Mortimer and Hilda Clevenger Martin. She graduated from Warren County High School, Class of 1946. Along with her husband and son she owned Frederick Motor Company and later she and her daughter owned Confetti and Personal Touch Gift Baskets. Martressa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who also loved her pets, Farley and Noel. Martressa’s passions were playing bridge and tending her flowers. She was a beloved member and mentor of the Glen Burnie Garden Club, as well as past President of the South Atlantic Region Garden Clubs, past President of Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, an accredited National Flower Show Judge, and a NGC Accredited Landscape Design Consultant.
She married Aaron M. Zuckerman on April 8, 1948 in Washington, D.C.
Surviving with her husband, Aaron, is a daughter, Kristen Gail Biauce (Prosper) of Martinsburg, West Virginia and son, Stanley Craig Zuckerman, Sr. (Sandra) of Frederick County, Virginia; grandchildren, S. Craig Zuckerman, Jr. (Janet), Cari Elaine Zuckerman (Joseph Spiggle), and Rebecca Aaron Zuckerman; great grandchild, Levi Craig Zuckerman; sister, Cynthia Brown of Winchester, Virginia; brothers, Samuel Martin of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Russell Martin of Front Royal, Virginia.
Preceding her in death were brothers, Mortimer Martin, Jr., Joseph Martin, and Glenn Martin.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 25th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 E. Prospect Street, Front Royal, Virginia.
