Luis Noel Rodriguez, age 60, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center as a result of injuries he sustained from an accident two weeks prior.
Mr. Rodriguez was born in 1950, in Puerto Rico, the son of Dr. Luis Noel Rodriguez and Lydia Vazquez of Puerto Rico. He was a talented tool and die maker prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and the Harley Owners Group. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Viet-Nam Campaign where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
Luis, also known as “Nolin”, “Bubba” and “Papa” by friends and family, was an inspiration to many. He will be remembered for his love of life and his laughter. He will be missed.
Mr. Rodriguez married Carol Alcabes on December 30, 1983, in Yonkers, New York.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his beloved children: Alissa Clifton and husband, Sam of Glyndon, Maryland, Jenniffer Custer and husband, Rickey, of Stephens City, Virginia, Christopher Rodriguez, of Stephens City, Virginia, Lisandra Braun and husband, Chris of Germany and Luis Noel Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Desiree of Orlando, Florida; Grandchildren, Joshua and Madison Clifton, Emma and Aubrey Custer, Yasmine and Dominique Rodriguez, Paul and Chloe Braun and Joustian and Dante Rodriguez; one sister, Limarielid Tomei Malave and husband, Sergio, of Amarillo, Texas; three brothers, COL Eric Rodriguez and wife, Lizzette, of Tampa, Florida, Luis Roberto Rodriguez and wife, Elisa, of Marion, North Carolina, and Arnaldo Rodriguez and wife, Maria, of Puerto Rico.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
