Lucita “Lucy” Stowe, 94, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2023, at Evergreen Health & Rehab.
Lucy was born in 1929 in Lowery, VA, the daughter of Guy and Madelene Martin. She graduated from high school at Holy Cross Academy in Lynchburg and went on to earn her associate degree in Commercial Art from Richmond Polytechnic Institute, now VCU.
She married Joel O. Stowe on December 6, 1951, in Lynchburg, VA, he preceded her in death on January 22, 2019.
Lucy is survived by her children, Lisa Gill of Winchester, VA, Suzette Neff (Mark) of Winchester, VA, Tim Stowe (Lisha) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Josh Gill (Michelle) of Winchester, VA, Abbie Fay (Adam) of Idaho Falls, ID, Joel “Joey” Gill (Maddie) of Bunker Hill, WV, Caleb Stowe of Lancaster, PA, Virginia “Ginny” Stowe of Arlington, VA, Madolin “Maddi” Neff of Winchester, VA, Tucker Neff of Winchester, VA and great-grandson, Jaxson Gill of Bunker Hill, WV.
Along with her parent and husband, Lucy is preceded in death by her sister, Pollyanna Ford and her brother, Edward Martin.
A visitation will be held for Lucy on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm with a service on Monday, March 4, 2023, at 10am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Cross of Victory Church.
