I met him at the firehouse 17years ago. He Always was cracking jokes and making me smile. He also always wore one himself (smile). He laughed all the tine and loved hangin with the guys. I had such an amazing friendship with him back then. Never a time I saw Benji that he wasn't smiling and the second it got serious, he was ready to go serve his community and be the best firefighter he could be. I spent so much of my sophomore year at the firehouse with him and the guys at that time. I will always treasure the days spent with him around the campfire, at get togethers, parties and fire training. I look at those pictures often and remember how happy of a time it was. Melissa was a family friend and I loved running into her at the firehouse. I am so sad and sorry that Benji went through so much, aswell as Melissa and their family by his side. I pray for him and Melissa as well as the family everyday, and have since I ffound out about his journey. He is one of the stro gest men I ever got the pleasure to know for a brief moment in tine it seems. May God be with them all through this trying time and I know Benji is in safe hands with God now. I pray for peace, and comfort for his family in the days to come. He was the bravest, most encouraging and inspiring person. God wrap your loving arms around his family and help them find the strength they need to get through this and every day that comes along the way. Amen. Fly high Benji and feel no more pain, you fought so hard and your family is so proud of you well as your friends. The world is darker without you here. God rest your soul sweet man.

Melissa, and kids...my heart has no words. The impact Buddha left on this world is still reverberating. I met someone not 5 minutes before I saw this that was talking about him. There have been stories shared so many times in the preceeding days. His life was NOT long enough, but it was eventful and full of meaning and memories. His legacy beyond his kids will last a lifetime or more. Our prayers are with you, Sophia and the boys.
