Louise S. Cather, 93 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Hidden Springs Senior Living.
Louise was born in 1931 in Berryville, VA, the daughter of the late Guy Nelson and Minzella Singhas. She spent her life farming, working part-time at Jays Boys & Girls Shop and Farmers Livestock Exchange. Louise was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Winchester. She was a member of the Winchester Women of the Moose, Lodge 1281, Virginia Farm Bureau, Virginia Angus Association, Virginia Fruit Growers Association and the Frederick County Fruit Growers Association. Louise enjoyed bowling.
She married Garland R. Cather on September 3, 1949, in Winchester, VA and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2006.
Louise is survived by her children, Kellie Keplinger (Rocky) of Winchester, VA and Tyree Cather of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Tiffany Kaminsky (Bobby) of Baldwin, MD, Allison Cather of Stephens City, VA and Austin Cather of Ashburn, VA; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Colby Kaminsky of Baldwin, MD, her sister, Pat Clevenger of Winchester, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brother, Millard “Bucky” Singhas.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Louise on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm at Omps Reception Center, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA 22601. Interment will be private.
