Louise Giffin Ritenour, 94, of Frederick County, VA, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

Ms. Ritenour was born in 1931 in Frederick County, VA, daughter of the late George and Nina Giffin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed creating a comfortable home for her husband and children. Ms. Ritenour was an exceptional cook, Nana to many children, enjoyed playing the slots, and above all else loved the band Journey, as well as country music. Ms. Ritenour was of the Southern Baptist faith.

Her husband, Omer Ritenour, Jr., whom she married on February 13, 1951, preceded her in death in 1990.

Surviving are daughters, Jeanie Mills and Joy Anderson (Stephen); son, Jeff Ritenour (Diane); grandchildren, Brad, Wendy, Jason, Tiffany, Adam, Mollie, Jessica, and Haillie; great grandchildren, Mattie, Jeremy, Wade, Chase, Hunter, Bailee, Caiden, Emily, Sam, Hannah, Lillie, Michael, Isabella, Kallianna, and William; great-great grandchild, Iris and one on the way; sisters, Betty Haines and Patsy Hiett; and brother, Grover Giffin.

Along with her parents and husband, Ms. Ritenour is preceded in death by son-in-law, Jerry Mills; sisters, Lucille Mellon, Colleen Wood, and Shirley Burkhart; and brothers, Roy Giffin, George “Buddy” Giffin, and Donnie Giffin.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Pastor Alan Morrison officiating.
