Louis “Bill” Robert Jensen, 81, of Stephenson, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Jensen was born in 1932, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, the son of the late Louis N. and Freida M. Jensen. Mr. Jensen was a veteran having served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was an owner and operator of Jensen’s Appliance Repair Company. Louis was a member of Winchester Church of God in Winchester. Bill was known for his passion of life he enjoyed many things such as motorcycles, airplanes, skydiving and was an avid gun collector. He was also known for his love of music and was self-taught to play the accordion, organ, piano and even the guitar. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
He married Ruth Smith on November 14, 1992.
His first wife, Anna Marie Grehl Jensen, preceded him in death on July 15, 1987.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Deborah McCauley and her husband Gary of Belington, West Virginia, Laurie McCauley and her husband Keith of Worden, Montana, Louann Burke and her husband Joseph of Howell, New Jersey; son, Donald Jensen and his wife Robin of Cowpens, South Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Williams of Pennsylvania, Joyce Moberg, Carol Waterman and Joan DeCarlo, all of Florida; brother, James Jensen of Boonton, New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
One brother, Albert Jensen, sister, Jean Reilly and great grandson, Dominic Kirkpatrick, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Chaplain Ken Patrick officiating, Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia. The family will have a reception following the services at Omps Funeral Home-South Chapel.
In Lieu of flowers contributions in Bill’s honor may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
