Lorraine Anderson Wolford, 77 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, peacefully at her home.
Lorraine was born September 21, 1948, in Frederick County the daughter of the late Hugh and Orpha Anderson. She was a 1967 graduate of James Wood High School. Lorraine worked as a supervisor for J. Schoeneman Inc. and as a teacher for Little Hearts at Fellowship Bible, but her greatest job was being a homemaker and mother. Lorraine was a member of Second Opequon Presbyterian Church. She dedicated her life to creating a loving and nurturing home and will be remembered for her positive personality and sense of humor. Lorraine was always there to lend a helping hand and support to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was in spending time with her grandchildren whom she was fondly known to as “Mimi”.
She married Dennis “Denny” Lee Wolford on December 28, 1968 and he joined her in heaven on November 26, 2025.
She is survived by her sons Christopher “Scott” Wolford (the late Suzanne “Suzie”) and Kevin Travis Wolford (Lilly Triplett); grandchildren Savannah Nicole Wolford and Weston T. Wolford; sisters Linda Adams (Larry), Barbara Crim and Becky Merriner (Jay); brother Gary “Gig” Anderson (Libby) and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lorraine is preceded in death by her sister Karen Robinson and her brother Larry Anderson and his wife Toni.
A Celebration of Life for Lorraine will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm at West Oaks Farm Market with Pastor Jeff Barbour sharing words at 6:30pm.
