Loris G. “Jack” Racey
Loris Granville “Jack” Racey, 67, of Frederick County, Virginia, was called home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, in Frederick County.
Jack was born in 1946, the son of the late Raymond and Ola Mae Racey. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1964 and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a night stockman with A&P, retiring in 1994. Jack enjoyed fishing, splitting wood and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his daughters, Lori Puryear and her husband, Marshall of Clarksville, Virginia, Kezia Woody and her husband, Stephen of Sanford, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Kayla and Kortney Puryear; five sisters, Mildred Georger of Connecticut, Jeanette Alexander, Martha Wakeman and Ann Butler all of Winchester and Naomi Middleton of Florida; four brothers, Franklin Racey, Joseph Racey, Charles Racey and John Racey all of Winchester. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Myrick and a brother, Raymond Racey.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 PM, prior to the service, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Aaron Fitch officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park with Military Honors afforded by VFW Post 2123.
