Lois H. Carr
Lois Annette Huber Carr, 83, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, August 9, 2014, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Carr was born in 1931, in Darby, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Oscar and Agnes Huber. She was a graduate of Darby High School in Darby, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Carr was an employee of the Alexandria Federal Bankruptcy Court serving as a bankruptcy court clerk, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and her dogs (especially Shelby and many others), as well as cooking. She loved spending time at her house at the beach with her family, grandchildren and great grandson.
She married Ret. Col. John Meredith Carr, Jr. (Army) on February 16, 1952, in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Donna C. Tambor and husband, Steve, of Stephens City, Virginia, Susan C. O’Donnell of Martinsburg, West Virginia; son, John Meredith Carr, III, of Hopwood, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Ashley M. Tambor, J. Travis O’Donnell, Kristin L. Tambor, Erin K. O’Donnell, Colin A. O’Donnell and great-grandson, Mac Carlton McWhorter.
