Ten years ago, I had the very fortunate and amazing opportunity to serve alongside and become great friends with Logan Young over the past ten years of his service.  He quickly became a lifelong friend to my family.  I first met Logan in Okinawa Japan where we worked together on the Mid Shift Charlie Flight for the 18th Security Forces Squadron.  My wife always said we were cut from the same cloth.  Had similar backgrounds and I quickly saw him as a younger brother I never had.  I was so excited when he arrived at Joint-Base Andrews with me yet again and we had the opportunity to serve alongside one another for the Elite Gate Guard Section at Andrews.   Countless and countless stories and memories I have shared alongside Logan on the job, and even more off.  He was the true meaning of a great friend and his presence could bring light to the darkest room without hesitation.  Always a pure joy to be around.  He loved sports and represented every squadron in almost any sport they had.  Especially basketball and football.  He just loved to have fun.  He took friendships to another level, more like a brotherhood.  Dependable would be an understatement, for he embodied what it meant to be a teammate in life.  He was a great Defender! And Great Airman to our country.  But even more, he was a great friend to so many.  Those who know him knew he was going to be an Amazing Father and Husband. Anyone who knew Logan personally would say something similar to this:  An amazing young man, who represented the meaning of “Love for Life” .  A Love that filled rooms with bright, witty and everlasting joys of laughter the moment he entered.  A Love that ignited happiness in others that they may have once lost.  A Love that elevated friendships with unconditional passion, care and empathy that they truly deserved.  A Love that ousted negativity and pursued happiness under all circumstances.  A Love that held back nothing, yet delivered honesty without hesitation nor judgement.  A Love that was guidance under one’s darkest hour.  A Love that held the purest quality you would find in an amazing father and friend.   A “Love for Life” . My family and I extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Logan’s family and everyone who was blessed to be impacted by him. I will forever love, cherish and celebrate you my friend. May you rest is heaven until I see you again.

Having watched London grow up, we met and spoke with Logan at CCPR soccer fields on many occasions. What a nice young man! Truly an inspiration to see his love not just for the sport, but the love and caring he showed Jesslyn. A terrible loss for all of you, please know many will be praying for you and London, especially, as she awaits the birth of their beautiful gift from God!! May God bless each of you with much comfort and peace throughout the years to come....especially in knowing the sacrifice Logan made in his “duty” to all of the community he loved so much!
