Juanita McAboy Smallwood
Lois Juanita McAboy Smallwood, 79, of Clear Brook, Virginia, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Smallwood was born in 1932, in Jefferson County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late John E. and Emily V. Smallwood. She was a cook and baker for Frederick County Public Schools and FEMA, serving for over 20 years. Mrs. Smallwood was a member of Brucetown United Methodist Church and a graduate of Charles Town High School.
Her husband, Rondo Smallwood, preceded her in death in 1995.
Her first husband, Russell McAboy, preceded her in death in 1978.
Surviving are her granddaughters, Amber Meadows and Summer Payton both of Clear Brook; great grandchildren, Isaac and Ashlyn Meadows and Bentley Payton; her sisters, Charlotte Hortense Breeden of Berryville, Erma Hough and Myra Wise both of Charles Town, West Virginia; brother, John Edgar Smallwood, Jr., of Stephenson and her dear friend, Milton Hinkle of Berryville VA.
Her son, James Edgar McAboy, preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday in Shenandoah Memorial Park, with Pastor Yun Kim officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
