Lisa Whitacre Johnson, 65 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at her home in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Lisa was born in 1960 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of William Lee Whitacre and the late Joan Marie Whitacre. Lisa was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1978 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 1982. Lisa was President of Shawnee Canning Company a job she loved and lived for. She was the secretary of the FFA, former President of the Frederick County Fruit Growers Association, a member of the Woodlawn Cemetery board, Virginia Manufacturers Association, women’s horticulture society and, a founding member of Virginia’s Finest. Lisa was an animal lover, who is preceded by her cocker spaniel, Winkie. Lisa loved being a mom and grandmother and enjoyed above all else spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Craig M. Johnson whom she married on September 19, 1987, daughter, Kara Johnson DeHaven (Keegan) of Winchester, VA; sons, Kyle Johnson of Missoula, MT, Scott Johnson (Alexandra) of Winchester, VA and Alex Johnson (Hillary) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, James Rhys Johnson 4 years old, Charlotte Marie Johnson 1.5 years old and her sister, Deborah Whitacre Olson of the Villages, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4pm to 9pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Come as you are and be ready to share stories of her incredible life.
