Linden E. Lewis, Sr.
Linden E. Lewis, Sr., 71, died December 22, 2013.
Linden was born in 1942 in Winchester, VA the son of the late Clifton and Nena Lewis.
Linden graduated from James Wood High School in 1960. He retired from Verizon and was devoted to his church and living for the Lord. He was a gentle man who lived life through his actions more than words.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Betty R. Lewis, his son Linden E. (Gene) Lewis, Jr. and wife Anne (Cross Junction) and son-in-law Joey Lear and beloved grandchildren Madison Lewis and Brian and Michael Lear. Also surviving are three brothers Don Lewis and wife Sherry; Bob Lewis and wife Pat; Bill Lewis and wife Carolyn; and three sisters Stella Shade and husband Joe; Betty Wilson and husband Don; and Nancy Grubb all of Winchester and Frederick County; and a large extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Annette Lewis Lear and sisters Viola Feltner and Katherine Richard.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church 2774 Northwestern Pike, Winchester at 11:00 a.m.
The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service.
