Linda Margaret “Nana” Handel Mullins, 72, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Friday, December 18, 2015, at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Care Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Mullins was born in 1943, in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late George F. and Lucy J. Handel. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School and attended Shenandoah University and Baltimore Bible College. Professionally, Nana was a bus driver with the Fairfax County School District, then became a sales representative for Clarion, a women’s fragrance company. Mrs. Mullins was a member of The Worship Center of Leesburg, Virginia.
Nana loved being with her family, enjoyed crafting and volunteering at thrift shops. She was renowned for her wonderful gift baskets that she would put together.
She married Jimmie Ray Mullins on August 27, 1962, in Fairfax, Virginia. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2013.
Surviving are her sons, Steve Mullins and wife, Tina, of Middletown, Virginia, Robert Mullins of Winchester; grandchildren, Rachael Stout and husband, Christopher Stout, Mark Mullins, Chelsea Mullins, Stevie Mullins, Holden Mullins and April Mullins; her great grandchildren, Gianah “Gigi”, Oleski, and a baby due in February 2016 to be named Aurora Narron; brother, David McNabb; daughter in law, Patricia Mullins, and her very special “little man”, Murdoch.
One son, Mark Mullins and a sister, Mary Lou Gardner, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
