Linda Kelchner, 78 of Winchester, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home.
Linda was born in 1947 in Winchester, the daughter of the late Clinton and Elsie Kathleen Pultz. She attended John Handley High School. She obtained her GED later in life and she was very proud of that fact. Linda worked as a cashier at Cracker Barrel and was a caregiver for Home Instead, but her biggest accomplishment was being the best NaNa there ever was. She was a member of Winchester Church of God where she loved being a greeter. Linda was very faithful and would say her prayers and do her devotions for two or more hours a day. She loved animals, especially cats and German Shepherds. Linda enjoyed reading and singing and her greatest joy was spending time with her adored family. She was known for being kind, selfless and caring as well as a friend to anyone she would meet. She loved Christmas and enjoyed this past one to the fullest.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Jordan Kelchner, Sr., whom she married on January 18, 1966; daughter, Barbara Fauver (Christopher) of Winchester; son, Ralph “RJ” Kelchner, Jr. (Julie) of Winchester; grandchildren, Erica McGee (Stuart) of Winchester, Nick Fauver (Nicki) of Winchester, Casey Fauver (Jillian) of Winchester, Chad Fauver (Addie) of Winchester, Jarett Kelchner of Winchester and Ella Kelchner of Winchester and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Jude, Ezra and Jep McGee, Camdon, Easton, and Warren Fauver and Owen Fauver.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her great-grandson, Wade Fauver; sister, Jackie Shifflett and her brothers, Jerry, and Larry Pultz.
A service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 2pm at Winchester Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Linda to Winchester Church of God, 2080 North Frederick Pike, Winchester, VA 22603 or the Esther Boyd Animal Shelter, 161 Ft. Collier Rd., Winchester, VA 22603.
