Linda Kay Whitmer

Linda Kay Vaught Whitmer, age 55, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at her residence.

Mrs. Whitmer was born in 1955, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of Winona J. Vaught and the late Clarence “CG” Vaught. She was the Director of the Nettech Center in Winchester. She was a member of the Methodist faith.

She married Daniel Russell Whitmer in Winchester, Virginia, on July 30, 1977.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by one brother, Michael Vaught and wife, Kathy, of Lewisburg, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, John Whitmer and wife, Kathy, of Winchester, Virginia and Dave Whitmer and wife, Judy, of Stephens City, Virginia; one niece and two nephews as well as many close friends.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, 1:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Dr. Beth Omundson officiating. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick County Animal Shelter, 161 Fort Collier Road, Winchester, VA 22602.
