Linda “Lynne” Bayliss Van Evera, 68, of Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Heritage Hall Nursing Facility in Front Royal, Virginia.
Lynne was born in 1947, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Mary Louise and Ellis E. Bayliss, Jr. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1965. Lynne was a Day Program Supervisor and Volunteer Coordinator with NW Works, Inc. in Winchester. She was a member of Little Mountain United Methodist Church in Winchester, Virginia. Lynne loved cooking and shopping, was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and visiting the beach.
Surviving is her son, Morgan Van Evera of Richmond, Virginia; sisters, Joanie Booth (Rick) of Atlanta, Georgia, Laura Simmons (James) of Winchester; brother, Bentley Bayliss of Winchester; nieces, Emilee Simmons of Leeds, United Kingdom, Olivia Booth of New York City, New York; nephew, Eric Bayliss (Renee) of Stephens City; great nephews, Collin, London and Phoenix Bayliss; former husband, Peter Van Evera of Ashland, Wisconsin, sister-in-law, Deb Bayliss, and former sister-in-law, Robin Bayliss.
One brother, E.E. “Shotsie” Bayliss and her nephew, Brian Bayliss preceded her in death.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
