Lillian V. “Sissy” Fox Manuel, 80, of Stephens City, VA, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Mrs. Manuel was born in 1936, in Capon Springs, WV, the daughter of the late Lee Randolf Linaburg and Hazel Inwood. She retired from Fleetwood Travel Trailers after 28 years of working as an assembler. She enjoyed gardening, loving her flowers and especially roses, loved animals of all kinds, liked bluegrass and old country tunes, enjoyed watching old western movies, needlepoint and cross stitching, and going for drives with no real destination in mind. Most of all she loved her family and many grandchildren.
Mrs. Manuel married her husband, Melvin Manuel on April 29, 1987, in Frederick County, VA.
Along with her husband, Lillian is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Kerns (Robert), of VA and Linda Fox Marple, of Stephens City, VA; step-daughter, Nancy Orndorff, of Stephens City, VA; two sons, Calvin Dean Fox, Jr. (Diann), of Gore, VA and Gary L. Fox (Connie), of Stephens City, VA; step-son, Roger Manuel, of Wardensville, WV; eleven grandchildren, Misty Miller, Christina Vernocy, Tommy Marple, Ashley Marple Dennis, Joshua Fox, Donnie Fox, Tina Fox Mason, Robbie Kerns, Todd Kerns, Adam Orndorff, and Amanda Manuel; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great granddaughters; sister, Juanita Ludwig, of Capon Springs, WV, and brother, Ted Linaburg (Eunice), of Winchester, VA.
Mrs. Manuel was preceded in death on June 10, 1986, by her previous husband, Calvin Dean Fox, Sr.; two sisters, Alma Linaburg Funk and Francis Link; and two brothers, Wilmer Linaburg and Charles Linaburg.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Chuck R. Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Miller, Tom Marple, Randy Linaburg, Jeff Mongold, Willard Link, and Roger Manuel.
