Leslie F. Messer, Jr., 46, of Points, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Winchester Medical Center.
Les was born in 1972, in Bowling Green, Ohio, the son of Leslie F. and Shirley D. Messer. He graduated from Newburyport High School in Massachusetts. Mr. Messer was self-employed at Mt. Meadows Bee Company, LLC, as an Apiary (Bee-Keeper) where he and his wife, Angel, worked together and made a great team. Les was an outdoorsman and loved nature. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. His favorite time was with his family, especially when they could travel together. He collected baseball cards and was an avid fan of hockey. He was a fan of the Washington Capitals. Les will always be remembered for his favorite snack, which was Honey Buns.
Mr. Messer married Angelique “Angel” Gilbert in 1996 in Winchester, Virginia.
He is survived by his wife; Angelique, parents; Les and Darlene, sons; Dean Bryant Gilbert Messer and Patrick Codi Messer, sisters; Brenda K. Messer, Dana “Faye” West (Chad) and Ella “Pooh Bear” Messer, his father in law; Harold S. Gilbert and mother in law; Judy I. Gilbert, and brother in law; Eric E. Gilbert, (the late Jane Blades). He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, at 7:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Harold “Porky” Jones officiating. Interment will be private.
