RIP my friend Leona....you will be sadly missed by everyone who knew you...I met you so many yrs ago at Penneys....you were always so cheerful and upbeat and even as a teenager then I loved working with you. You taught me so many things about life and how to deal with things. I could always feel the love you had for your family and even those you worked with. This is not goodbye but an I will see you later my friend.....

Leona was truly a lovely and loving lady. Although we did not see each other often, I have great memories of the days when we worked together. We became fast friends and even enjoyed a week together in Nags Head when we were "much younger". I am sure her family and friends have much to celebrate about her life. May her children and grandchildren find peace in the memories of having such a wonderful mom and grandmother. With sympathy, Ava Hoover

Rick and Cheri, I just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you today. A mother is someone who gives you more than you will ever realize. I know you will cherish her memory, and I hope it helps for you to know we at Blue RIdge are here for you.

Aunt Leona became one of my favorite people when I met her in 1978. She was always full of fun, loving, hospitable and I always looked forward to seeing her when I visited my in-laws, Arthur and Eloise Martin. So happy I got to know this beautiful lady. So sorry for your loss, Tim, Diane and Rick, but you were blessed to have such a sweet mother. Tricia Martin

Nonie was the most caring & giving person I know. She was like a grandma to me. She treated me as though I was one of her own grandchildren since I was born. I can't ever remember a time when she wasn't there. When my daughter was born she drove home from Myrtle Beach, SC just to see her. She helped me pick out my wedding dress. She has always been there for my mom and I. She was a very special lady. You will always share a special place in my heart and will never be forgotten. I love and miss you Nonie! xoxox

I worked with Leona at O'Sullivan many years ago, she was the nicest person, I stayed in touch and would talk to her at Penny's. She was the most lovely lady, never knew her true age, because she looked like she was in her 30's when she was in her 50'S :) True beautiful person in her looks and personality, I will miss her, thinking of your family at this hard time. May your tears of pain turn to tears of happiness and great memories as your heart heals...
