Leo Brondell Fauver “Pete”, 88, of Winchester, Virginia died Monday, December 19, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Fauver was born in 1928 in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Nellie B. and Harry S. Fauver, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Navy (Seabees) where he was a Carpenter’s Mate 3rd Class. Mr. Fauver retired from Abex in 1993. His favorite past-times were spending time with his dog Huckleberry, his grandchildren, and loved to play the card game, Setback. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and his favorite player was John Riggins. Mr. Fauver enjoyed baseball and loved to attend high school baseball games. Above all else, little did he know until after the fact, he was part owner of a racehorse, Bowling Native.
His wife, Jacquelyn H. Fauver, preceded him in death in July 1994.
Surviving is a son, Mark S. Fauver and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Matthew J. Fauver and companion, Katie Beauchamp, Jason F. Fauver and wife, Jessica, and John H. Fauver; sister, Varsella Pitcock; and brother, Herman Fauver.
Along with his wife Mr. Fauver was preceded in death by son Jay H. Fauver; daughter-in-law, Helen R. Fauver; sisters, Marie Anderson, Audrey Fahnestock, and Glenna Arnold; brothers, Cecil, Marco, Harry, Jr., Rodney, and Elsworth Fauver.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m with Christopher Fauver officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
