Lemuel A. McKee

Lemuel “Lem” Arthur McKee, 66, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, November 20, 2011, in his home.

Mr. McKee was born in 1945, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Roy Lemuel and Rosie McKee. He was employed by Zero Pack. Lem enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports and C. B. Radio operation.

He married, Gail Welsh on August 5, 1973, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife of 38 years are three daughters, Tracy Lynn Coates and her husband, Don, of Hawkins Texas, Marie McKee Cooper and her husband, Ray, of Gravette Springs, Kentucky, Martha Louise Carper and husband, Andrew, of Martinsburg, West Virginia; three sons, Roy David McDonald of Texas, Ronald William McDonald of Virginia and SSG Michael Wayne Henning of Fayetteville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his sister, Margie Lou McKee Miller of Moorefield, West Virginia.

His son, Sonny Arthur McKee and brother, Roger Lee McKee, preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday in Mount Hebron Cemetery with Mr. David A. Owings officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until processing to Mount Hebron Cemetery for the graveside service.

Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
