Lee G. Martin
Lee G. Martin, 84, of Frederick County, Virginia died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.
Mr. Martin was born in 1929, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the son of the late James L. and Florence Martin. He was a Veteran having served in the Unites States Marine Corps. Mr. Martin was a graduate of Manheim Township High School, Class of 1947 and of Shippensburg University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree. He was retired from Potomac Edison after 31 years of service. Lee will be remembered for his love of Golf, he was an active member with Rock Harbor and Carpers Valley Golf Courses. He also enjoyed being a member with the American Legion, BPOE Elks Lodge 867 for over fifty years.
He married Jacqueline Saunders on August 1, 1962, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife is his sister, Mildred A. Neagley of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by two brothers, William M. Martin and James L. Martin.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, on Monday, at Mount Hebron Cemetery, with Reverend Dr. Dan McCoig officiating.
