Laura Marie Shaver

Laura Marie Shaver, 92, of Charles City, Virginia died Tuesday in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Facility.

Mrs. Shaver was born in 1919 in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Kelly. She graduated from Brown University and became a psychiatric social worker at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Mrs. Shaver was of the Catholic faith.

Her husband, Charles H. Shaver, whom she married on September 10, 1946, preceded her in death on March 8, 1997.

Surviving are her children, Hank Shaver and his wife, Penny, of Charles City, Virginia; Paul Shaver of Winchester, Virginia and Beth Horner of Richmond, Virginia; two grandchildren, PJ Shaver, Jr. and his wife, Annie, of New York and Will Horner of Richmond, Virginia.

Mrs. Shaver was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Arlington National Cemetery.
