Laura Margaret Ruscito, 22, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in Frederick County, Virginia.

Laura was born in 1989, in New Harford, New York, the daughter of Paul and Lorie Ruscito of Stephens City, Virginia. She was a Senior at George Mason University where she was studying to be an Occupational Therapist. Laura also worked as a teller at the Bank of Clarke County. She was a graduate of Sherando High School, class of 2007 and of Lord Fairfax Community College, class of 2009.

Laura danced with Kay’s School of Dance for 10 years, she was a member of DECA and the Spanish Club in high school, and she volunteered at the SPCA. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester. Laura loved her many friends and family members, and was passionate about music, animals, and especially Harry Potter.

Surviving with her parents are her brothers, Paul R. Ruscito and his wife, Katie, and Richard J. Ruscito and his daughter, Madalaine, all of Stephens City, Virginia; her honorary grandparents, Bill and Joan Fitzgerald; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Her beloved grandparents, Richard and Margaret Pallas, Jr. and John and Florence Ruscito, preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 3:00-7:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the funeral home, or donations can be made to the SPCA.

I worked with Laura at the Bank of Clarke County, and she was a sweet, fun-loving girl with a beautiful smile. She once told me one of her favorite things to do to get into the Christmas spirit was to wrap presents by herself while watching Barishnikov's Nutcracker. :-) She will truly be missed.

I fondly remember when I was younger and your brother would have us all over to hang out and play music. I remember one particular time where you had a loose tooth and we were all joking about tying it to a door handle and slamming the door and how we all laughed about it.
