Dear Travis, I'm thinking of you during this difficult time. Your mom was always devoted to you and to your success. And, she left a wonderful legacy as I know your star shines brightly. She also a great teacher at Cape Henry and a good friend. I was hoping I could get to Front Royal for the services today but it just didn't work out. I would love to have contact information for you and would LOVE to catch up. Arlene Ingram, your (former) advisor

I was lucky enough to be the recipient of Laura's magnificent smile at the Winery. Seeing her happiness and pride was evidence of the joy she must have felt, being part of the active community there. She is missed. Blessings and grace to Travis and Jeff.

It's taken me a few days to write this because I needed to come to the realization that I can no longer pick up the phone to talk to my friend of almost 69 years. Travis, too many memories to recount from trying to get a tan (and getting burned) to trotting around D.C. by ourselves while on our senior trip to all the many times we caught up with each other's lives over the years. Godspeed, old friend. And, Travis, don't be a stranger.

I've lost an old friend. We started 1st grade together. She was the girl with red hair. She was a faithful member of the Model High School Class of 1962, always attending our reunions. She usually brought her son Travis with her. Laura was a really good person and faithful friend, and I will miss her.

I enjoyed so many Easter celebrations, dinners, time at the winery, and wide-ranging chats with Mrs. Patton. She always had an interesting perspective to share, and was quick-witted, observant, and engaging. She also raised one of my favorite humans, so I'm forever grateful to her for that. I know her loss will be felt by many, and I'm forever grateful to have gotten to know her. I take comfort knowing that she is no longer in pain and at peace.
