Larry J. Mahns

Larry James Mahns, 69, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, August 11, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Mahns was born in 1944, in Indiana the son of the late Raymond A. and Ethel G. Mahns. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army with the Airborne. Mr. Mahns was a retired Technician with Rolm Telephone Company, AT&T and IBM Computer Systems. Mr. Mahns was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Winchester as well as the Winchester Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and working on computers.

He married Una Mae Staub on July 11, 1992, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Deborah L. Mahns of Luray, Virginia; granddaughter, Jessica M. Haynes of Winchester; brother, Raymond Mahns and wife, Pat, of Ft. Myers, Florida and brother-in-law, Rex Wright.

His sister, Sharon Wright, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, at Church of the Good Shepherd, 645 Berryville Avenue, Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Vernon Bray officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
