Michael Ebert left a message on December 28, 2023:
Nadine, Heather, and Lil’ Larry, My condolences on the loss of your pater familias. He will be deeply missed. He had a big heart and was always there when friend or family needed assistance. It could have been a clogged drain, a broken down vehicle, or even a well pump. He helped me pull all 275ft of our pump and replaced the electrical wire, the pump was fine. All it took was a phone call and he was there, and he never took a dime for it because that is what family does for one another. Red was a big lumberjack kind of guy, and as such I never thought of him as the athletic type until the first time I saw him done a pair of roller skates. It was at the local roller rink, a birthday party for one of our family members. The first lap he took it slow as if he was checking out the unfamiliar rental skates. The second lap my jaw dropped with astonishment as he flirted in and out of the crowd of kids and adults with Wayne Gretzky like skills, except on wheels. He skated forward, backward, fast and slow with the grace of a ballerina, and the power of a mountain lion. I thought this guy is amazing…who knew!!! I guess I had never seen that side of him before, and I could tell it made him happy each lap he made the smile on his face got bigger and bigger. That is how I will remember Red. I will keep good thoughts and prayers for each of you as you face the days ahead without him. Share your memories and stories with the grandkids so that he will live through them and will forever be in your hearts and mind. I know he loved each and every one of us. He may rarely if ever have spoken the words “I love you”, but he was old school and his actions and deeds proved it every day. I am not a fan of goodbyes, so for now I will say see you later Red, until we meet again.

Nadine, Heather, Larry & family, It is with the deepest sympathy that I write this. I have known Red most of my life. He was a gentle soul with a soft chuckle and I have the most fond memories of so many things that we all did together. He is family and will be missed terribly. Michael, myself and our entire family are at a loss with his passing and our grief is beyond measure. Our prayer is that God comforts you all in this most difficult time as you make your way through the coming days & years ahead. We will keep his memory alive with stories from our past so that his young grandchildren will always know what a great guy he was and the extraordinary things that he could do. We love you all!! Always-- Toni, Mike, & Family
