Larry Edward Campbell, 66, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, January 4, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Campbell was born in 1949, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Elaine Campbell of Winchester, Virginia and the late Edgar “Edward” Harrison Campbell. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1967 and Shepherd College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Business. He was an Independent Insurance Agent and owner of Campbell Insurance Agency.
Mr. Campbell retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the Martinsburg Air National Guard #167, where he served as a Medic. He was a member of the Stonewall Ruritan Club for over 36 years. He retired as a lifetime member of the Millwood Station Rescue Squad and was a member of NALU (National Association of Life Underwriters). Besides his community service, Larry enjoyed golfing and going to auctions. Most of all he loved being around and associating with people.
He married Tari Prickett on May 30, 1970, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife and mother is his son, Mark Allen Campbell of Winchester; daughter, Kathleen Campbell-Green and husband, Randy, of Fairfield, Pennsylvania; step-granddaughter, Scarlett Green; nieces and nephews, Shane Hicks, Trevor Nethers, and Mendi Sample; and his sisters, Judith Stombaugh and husband, Mike, of Cowden, Illinois and Karen Godfrey and husband, Pat, of Poinciana, Florida.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 11, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Mr. John Capehart officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
Pallbearers include Mark Campbell, Randy Green, Bo Weddle, Walter Knott, Gary Wingfield and Bobby Jenkins.
