Larry Alton Mullin, 80 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.
Larry was born in 1944 in Berkeley Springs, WV, the son of the late Alton and Ann Mullin. He received his bachelor’s degree from Shephard College and his master’s degree from James Madison University. He went on to pursue his doctorate degree from Virginia Tech. Larry was an educator/administrator for the Frederick County Public School System until his retirement. He was a member of the Winchester/Frederick County Historical Society. Larry enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing golf, and researching genealogy.
He married Elizabeth Gray Welton on January 11, 1963, in Williamsport, MD.
Larry is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Rebecca Mullin (Craig Sheets) of Jacksonville, FL, Laura Sullivan (Jason) of Martinsburg, WV; sons, K. Scott Mullin (Cindy) of Clear Brook, VA, Michael Mullin (Fay) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Carly Zeigler, Ashley Oyler, Madison Sheets, Grayson Sheets, Kirsten Mullin, Nathan Mullin and Colleen Sullivan and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Carole Habash.
A visitation will be held for Larry on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm with a service to be conducted on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11am, all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A private interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 9am.
