Lalita Tandon Talwar, 87, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Talwar was born in 1926, in India, the daughter of the late Udho D. and Kamla D. Tandon. She was a homemaker and a member of Rajdhani Mandir in Chantilly, Virginia.

She married Mr. Bodh Raj Talwar in 1942, in India.

Surviving with her husband are five daughters, Usha Nain and husband, Kanwal Nain, of Winchester, Virginia; Sushma Khurana and husband, Virender Khurana, of Toronto, Canada, Nirmal Kapur and husband, Gurdeep Kapur, Padimini Thakkar and husband, Desh Thakkar, all of Chicago, Illinois, Mohini Roper and husband, Narinder Roper, of Dumfries, Virginia; son, Rajesh Talwar and wife, Tara Talwar, of St. Louis, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers.

Last Rites (Antim Sanskar) for Mrs. Talwar will be conducted on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

May GOD give peace to our mummy. She was Bari mummy for all of us. We love our mummy so much and will miss her. I am glad the Roper family with both sons and new daughter-in-law met her on Dec 28 2013 and we spent good time together.We are cherishing memories spent with her and pitaji.
