Kimberly Ann James, age 56, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center.
Kim was born on March 1, 1970, in Virginia, the daughter of the late Edgar Wiles Blackburn and Murray McKnight. She was the owner and operator of Six Star Events LLC, where she shared her talents through catering. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Kim was an ordained minister and an active member of Radical Change Ministries.
Beyond her professional life, Kim found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking, gardening, reading, and music, and she could often be found working on a puzzle.
She married Brandon James on August 18, 1990, in Winchester, Virginia.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Haley Tyler James of Winchester, VA; her mother, Murray Blackburn McKnight; her “son of the heart,” Daniel Victor (Cary) of North Carolina; and her three beloved grandchildren, Ainsley, Becklyn, and Fenix Victor. She is also survived by her stepsisters, Missy Barber and Chrissy Lessey, and her stepbrother, John Woodcock, Jr and stepmother, and Katherine Hopper.
She was preceded in death by her father and her stepparent, Taylor Marshall.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Puesta Del Sol, 392 Rudolph Lane, Yellow Springs, WV 26865.
