Kevin Wayne Fox, 52, of Bunker Hill, WV, passed away December 18, 2020. He was born October 8, 1968 in Silver Spring, Maryland, the son of Helen (Niles) Fox and the late Allen Wayne Fox.

Kevin grew up in Winchester. He attended Powhatan School in Boyce, Virginia and received the Mahaney Cup, the highest honor for service to the school. In his early teens, Kevin was the technical director of sound and lighting for the Miss Maryland Pageant. He was a graduate of John Handley High School and received honors for his dedication to school-wide productions. He attended Catawba College in Salisbury, NC., where he majored in theatrical arts and produced the musical, Chicago for the school’s community theater.

Kevin was employed as a Professional Development Coordinator/Video Production Specialist for the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy in Ashburn, VA. Prior to that he worked for ten years at An Affair To Remember Video, and was particularly proud of renewing precious family films into lifetime memories.

Kevin was a former DJ and chief engineer for numerous local stations, including Q102 and WFTR.

Kevin was owner/operator of F.M. Industries, providing sound technology for various Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival events. He was co-owner of FOX-XPRESS

Kevin was a former Big Brother with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Winchester and former Vice President of Winchester Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the Winchester Elks Lodge #867. Kevin enjoyed all genres of “good” music and loved all animals, especially his pets.

In addition to his mother, Helen, Kevin is also survived by his wife, Deborah A. (Wright) Fox, whom he married on February 4, 2005; his sister, Kristi Joanne Dodds (Trevor); and his two nieces, Jaiden Grace Dodds and Mia “Allen” Dodds; his stepchildren, Melissa Springer, Heather Hottle (Michael), and David Poe, Jr. (Betty); and his step grandchildren, Alexis, Sierra, and Oakleigh Hottle.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue organization of the donor’s choice; Powhatan School, 49 Powhatan Lane, Boyce, Virginia 22620; or to the Virginia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, PO Box 333, Midlothian, VA 23113.

Today marks the 3rd year since I lost you. Kevin, you are always with me in everything I do, you may be gone from my sight, but are forever in my heart. You remain my best friend, my husband, and my guardian angel. ♥️ My Love Of A Lifetime.

I met and worked with Kevin in radio beginning in the early 80s. He was a kind hearted, positive guy and fun loving. He was a jack-of-all-trades and knew anything technical. He always wanted to know more. He kept the radio stations afloat and would always pitch in if you needed an extra hand with anything. I have a picture somewhere of him accompanying me to a live broadcast with jugs of apple cider in his hands! I remember him teaching me how to solder headphone wiring at WFTR back at his workbench. I remember trips up to the Q102 tower site on the mountain in his pickup truck and galavanting around with him and Jimmy Lee. Kev was just an all around fun guy to be with. We lost him too soon. There’s a lot of love and reverence back here on earth for you, Kevin. We miss you.

Kevin was such a sweet and gentle soul. Loved his music. So sad to hear of his passing. He has gone too soon. My Condolences to his Wife Debbie and his family.

A talented DJ as well as a very sharp audio and sound technician. I had the honor of working with Kevin at Adelphia Cable when he assisted with sound and cameras for our Cable Talk interviews. He ALWAYS asked "how are Mary and the kids?" Love and miss you Kevin.

Condolences from myself and all the staff of WXVA radio to Kevin's wife and family. Kevin will be sorely missed. Kevin was our on call engineer. Kevin was always a gentle spirit and fun to be around. I will miss our many saturday chats about our jobs and the radio industry.

So sorry about Kevin. Eddie and I are sending our deepest condolences. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

When I was in high school Kevin had a pretty amazing recording studio set up in the basement of his parents' house. I had met him through his sister, Kristi. He helped me record a demo tape of sorts. I remember him as a very kindly patient fellow. So sad to hear of his passing.

Kevin was a wonderful colleague and friend. The joy and happiness he brought into all of our lives will not be forgotten. Praying that God will give you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

We will miss you sir. Thank you for everything you did for all the sessions.

Thank you Mr.Fox for all of the memories you have captured during our time at the academy. Because of you, those memories will never be forgotten. You will never be forgotten. Rest easy brother.

Was always catching everyone slipping at the academy in pictures and showing everyones horrible moments. I mean that in a funny way but he was the nicest person, unfortunately did not speak to people very much but always acknowledged us at the academy. Sorry for your loss and lots of prayers are with your family.
