Kermit Anthony “Gib” Gerbracht, 62 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center. Gib was born in 1963 in Jacksonville, NC, the oldest of four children born to the late Kermit and Natalie Gerbracht. He grew up in Fairfax City, VA and was a graduate of Fairfax High School, Class of 1981.
Gib is survived by his companion, Machelle L. Lewis; her daughter, Amanda Lewis; her son, Nickelous Lewis (Shaina); and grandson, Hunter Lewis; sisters, Connie Lipscomb (Danny), Carin Tanner (Richard) and his brother, Richard Gerbracht.
He worked for the past 14 years as the facilities manager for San Damiano Spiritual Life Center in White Post, before that he was self-employed specializing in home improvements and employed earlier in life by BC Builders.
Gib enjoyed traveling. He and Machelle were always off on an adventure to explore new places or camping in their RV. He also enjoyed playing games, going to the beach, eating, golfing, boating and ATV riding. Gib was a known clown who loved making himself and others smile. Always very sociable, he enjoyed getting together with friends and family. Above all else, he loved being “Pappy” and spending time with his grandson Hunter.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm with a service to be conducted at 6pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Inurnment will be in Stonewall Memorial Gardens in Manassas. Officiating will be Deacon Mark Maines.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kermit to any local food pantry or a shelter of the donor’s choice.
