Kenneth W. Haggerty, 86 of Winchester, Virginia passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Mr. Haggerty was born January 9, 1938, in Purgitsville, WV, the son of the late Walter Clyde Haggerty and Thelma Viola (Helman) Haggerty.
He married Wilda Mae (Raigner) Haggerty on January 9, 1959.

Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Wilda, brother Ernest Haggerty, sister, Dolly Ketterman, and a special friend, Jimmy Levi.
He retired from a more than 30-year career with H&W Construction in Winchester, VA where he was a heavy equipment operator.

Kenny was an avid outdoorsman who loved working, tending his garden, and enjoying evenings watching the deer in his yard. He loved putting puzzles together and frequently quizzed his grandchildren on the latest and greatest Sudoku squares. One of his favorite pastimes was being on the water with his fishing buddy, Charlie Miller, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by one brother, Thomas Haggerty of Purgitsville, WV; daughters, Vickie Haggerty (Ronnie) and Christina Richards and husband James; grandchildren, Melissa (Bill), Kendra (Chris), Harley (Adam), Jamie and Dallas (Sam); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Heather, Jordan, Mya, Jonathan, Katilyn, Kendall, Sara, Trista, CJ, Macie, Addilyn, and Paityn and two great great-grandchildren, Haisleigh and Clementine.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be held for Kenny on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 2pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Frederick County, VA.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Richards, Adam Reese, Mark Haggerty, Chris Andrick, Jordan Oates and Michael Jenkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Oates and CJ Andrick.
