Kenneth L. Reid, Jr.
Kenneth Leon “Gampa” Reid, Jr., 69, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Reid was born in 1943, in Clarke County, Virginia, the son of the late Kenneth L. and Marie Reid, Sr. He was the Owner and Operator of Reid’s Enterprises for 35 years. Mr. Reid loved Nascar Racing and his cars. He has lived the last 39 years “one day at a time”. Mr. Reid fought Parkinson’s disease for the past 8 years with bravery and courage.
He married Karen Sue Henry on July 30, 1994, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife is his son, Todd Henry Morrison and wife, Pamela Fincham, of Clearbrook, three grandchildren, William Kenneth Hunter Morrison, Amanda Dawn Fincham, Randy Russell; sister, Carol Cameron of Charles Town, West Virginia; and brother, Jerry Reid, Sr. of White Post. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. One sister, Bobbie Carter preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Aaron Brewer officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Wills, Jeremy Wills, Gene Roop, Jamie Judy, Clovis VanNess and Brucie Carter.
