KC Cammer, 49 of Winchester, VA died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at home. He was born on October 5, 1967 in Winchester and graduated from John Handley High School in 1986. KC worked as a real estate agent at Long and Foster Realtors and Mutual of Omaha agent in the Winchester area.

KC affected others with his magnetic personality which was laced heavily with sarcasm, infectious sense of humor, and contagious attitude of seeing the comedy in each of life’s situations. KC was stuck in the 80’s with his obsession and love of hair metal bands and parachute pants. He enjoyed baseball, the Pittsburgh Steelers, hunting wascally wabbits and spending time with his harem of girls. Frederick County officials are concerned the deer population will now grow exponentially; however, a decrease in complaints about noise violations due to firework deployment and flying arrows through surrounding properties is expected.

Surviving KC is his wife Heather, daughters Courtney Cammer, Grace and Megan Everly of Winchester, VA; his sister Denise Pittenger, brother-in-law Gerre and their son Troy; his sister Kathy Cammer, and her children Liz, Meghan and Evan Snapp.

With no risk of him losing his securities license now, KC wanted to leave you with one last insider trading tip: If you have Crown Royal Stock…sell!

It is requested that dress be casual for the service.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. .

KC and I went to school from grade school to graduation. He was always joking, being silly, running around picking on me, giving me the nickname Cootie Lou which is still a name many people call me today. Whenever I would see him out he would always say hello. This was such a shock to hear this and I pray for the family during this time.

Megan- I am so sorry for your loss. I know your step-dad was a very important part of your life and nothing will ever be the same. Know that he loved you as his own and is now watching over you from above. My prayers go out for you, your mom, and sisters.

Dear Heather and Family, I'm so shocked to hear of the sudden death of your husband. I know he was a great family man and a "character" to those who knew him. May your memories of happier times sustain you. Saying prayers to get you through this difficult time.

I am so very sorry to hear this news. I knew KC from the late 80's when he was my boss at Juvenile Toy Sales in Wards Plaza. Wasn't that the perfect job for him?! I remember during the very slow winter months when we didn't have very many Customers, we would play Nerf wars, have silly string battles, have Lego building competitions at that little Lego table that sat up front...and on and on... He was a beautiful person. His smile lit up the world. I just can't imagine what you are going through. I don't know you. but please know you and your girls are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Heather,,KC's bright light will always shine on you and the girls through the loving years, extraordinary memories and divine photos that will live on eternally. It's a terribly painful loss and we pray for your solace as time passes. He brought joy to so many as reflected in the numerous tributes. His family devotion was unmatched. We worked with KC as fellow realtors in the Winchester area and can say that he was always a true professional and an exceptionally kind person. He went out of his way to assist in making a sale go well for everyone involved. He loved and was very supportive of his community. He always made us feel welcome. I will never forget the first time he took our family house hunting up here. He played hide and seek with our girls in the basement of the house we were viewing! My girls (who a very wary of most people) immediately fell in love with "Mr. KC". He will be missed....greatly.

I don't know how old KC was when he moved into our neighborhood....maybe elementary school....so, it has been nearly 40 years that I have known KC. He was a great friend ... we used to take our bikes on saturdays and ride to the doughnut shop on valley avenue. We walked to the school bus together all through middle school. We hung out during high school and always enjoyed running into each other when I was in town.(I got to see him this summer when I was home)? He was a true lover of life. I will miss running into to him next time I'm in town. Until we meet again KC!

I became friends with K.C. when we had a home room together our freshman year at Handley. He sat behind me and we teased each other daily all in fun. He had an infectious smile and a caring heart. One of the two memories that are the most vivid to me are his relentless teasing of me when I received a secret admirer flowers that year and he ended up finding out who it was but wouldn't tell me because he decided it would be more fun fore him to torture me and dole out clues. The other is the few nights we both fell asleep talking on the phone when he decided I was in need of a big brother regarding my love life. He later told me he was convinced my hearing was impaired. The latter part of high school our different interests took us in different directions but he always had a smile and a smart aleck comment for me. We briefly touched base a number of years ago when I use to be active on Facebook. It was wonderful to hear how happy he was being married and the joy he had in being a dad. My deepest sympathy to all of his family but especially Heather and the girls.

K.C. has been my friend since 7th grade. We spent countless hours gabbing on the phone. As adults we grew apart but when we did come together for a chat it was as if no time had passed at all. I will miss him dearly. Love and prayers to Heather and the girls.

I will never forget the time that KC actually slapped me on a dare from another classmate in the basement of the Montague Avenue church, we were there for someone's birthday. It started out rough, but KC and I became friends throughout high school and he always tried to give me advice about boys ( I never listened, lol!). He had a great spirit and will be missed by his loved ones. Heather and her girls are in my thoughts and prayers and I pray for peace for them.
