Kathy Lynn Hottle, 63, of Martinsburg, West Virginia passed away on March 8, 2017 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Kathy was born December 16, 1953 in Winchester, Virginia, the beautiful daughter of the late Russell Eugene Brill, Sr. and Joyce Helena Campbell Sirbaugh. She was a graduate of John Handley High School class of 1974. Kathy was employed in many positions during her life, as well as a mail clerk at National Fruit Product Company. Her most rewarding job was being a FIRST CLASS Grandma to her grandchildren. Kathy was a member of The Ladies Auxilary #824 and Moose Lodge #1367. Kathy enjoyed camping, floating the river, flea markets, making flower arrangements, crafting with her granddaughters; but her all-time favorite was sitting on her front porch with her husband by her side along with a cold glass of sweet tea, chatting about anything from the traffic going by to the birds chirping in the trees.
Kathy married Robert Wayne Hottle, Sr. on August 29, 1999 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband is her son George H. Tavenner and wife Jodi of Logansville, Georgia, daughters, Rebecca L. Maynard and husband, James of Gore, Virginia and Elizabeth J. Tavenner of Kearneysville, West Virginia. Three step-sons Wayne, Rodney, and Richard Hottle. Kathy has (6) grandchildren; Austin Tavenner, Brady Tavenner, Brett Tavenner, Molly Maynard, Shelby Busey, and Maggie Maynard; including (4) step-grandchildren, Justin Mellott, Tyler Hottle, Kyle Hottle, and Abigail Hottle, and nieces and nephews.
Through thick and thin she has had her two brothers, Russell E Brill, Jr. (companion, Kim) of Stephens City, Virginia and Nevin E Brill (Kay) of Winchester, Virginia by her side, during her final hours.
For those of you, that have never had a piece of “Myrtle”, you don’t know what you are missing.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Janet Lee Sneckenberger.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Anthony Growden officiating.
