Karl J. “Jimmy” Dorman
Karl James “Jimmy” Dorman, 67, of Frederick County, VA, died Friday, March 19, 2010 in the V.A. Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.
Mr. Dorman was born in 1943, the son of the late Karl Joseph and Mary Dorman. He worked as a Master Pressman in the printing industry for over 40 years. He was an innovator, inventor, musician, pilot and mechanical engineer (without the degree) who was able to fix anything. Mr. Dorman was a Navy veteran and was a member of the American Legion. He played music for Hill Top House, the Winchester Medical Center, and for many other groups and organizations, spreading joy through his songs.
He is survived by his wife, Debbi, of 22 years, two daughters, Dreana Jean Green and Karla Lee Kimble; three sons, Karl Wayne Dorman, Daniel James Dorman and John Michael Dorman; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild and two sisters, Martha Holloman and Ann Harris. He was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Wayland Routson.
The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel on Tuesday from Noon until 2:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with his nephew, Pastor Tim Butler officiating. Interment will be private. After the service, please feel free to join the family at the Dorman residence for a time of music and remembrance.
