Karen (Russell) Belford, 80, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Winchester Medical Center.

Karen was born in 1943 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late, James Robert Russell and Colleen (Bagaent) Russell. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1961. Karen retired after 53 years as a legal secretary, working for Harry Benham at Harrison and Johnston Law Firm. She loved to read, play solitaire on her computer and tend her flower garden. Most of all she loved spending time with her only grandchild, Kemper.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert E. Belford, Sr., whom she married on September 8, 1961; her son, Robert E. Belford, Jr. (Karen Bonner-Belford) of Winchester, VA; grandson, Kemper Robert Belford of Winchester, VA and her sister, Colleen “Libby” Smith (David, Sr.).

Karen is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Jane Dean who passed in 2019.

A visitation will be held for Karen on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11am with a service to follow at 12pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A time of food and fellowship will be held after the service at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Markle.
