Karen Hooks Harris

Karen Hooks Harris, 60, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, in her home, while under hospice care.

Mrs. Harris was born in 1952, in Greensboro, North Carolina, the daughter of Sydney Harris of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the late Carlyle Hooks. Mrs. Harris was a Desk Top Publisher who worked from her home.

She married Steven M. Harris on August 8, 1989, in Alexandria, Virginia.

Surviving with her mother and her husband of 24 years, is her step-father, Ernest R. Harris of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; her son, Shane Carson Stafford and wife, Rebecca, of Laguna Niguel, California; three grandchildren, Connor Huch, Aubrey and Emily Stafford; sister-in-law, Debbie Hooks; and nephews, Eric Hooks and Timothy Caine Hooks.

Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 6, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Ken Patrick officiating.
