Junior F. Leake
Junior Franklin Leake, 61, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Care Center.
Mr. Leake was born in 1952, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Brinnis F. and Frances Leake. He was a graduate of Martinsburg High School. He attended Dowell J. Howard Technical School and James Rumsey Technical School where he studied Industrial and Residential Electrical installation. Mr. Leake was a mechanic with Crown, Cork and Seal, Co. retiring in January of 2002, after 30 years of service. He was an assistant leader with the Boy Scouts, and formerly on the Board of the Director with the Berkeley Youth League. He enjoyed hunting and traveling down south to Alabama. Mr. Leake was a member of the Aerospace Nation Union and the Musselman Athletic Boosters.
He married Lorraine L. Shade on December 17, 1970, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Brian Scott Leake and wife, Jennifer, Brent Franklin Leake and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Logan Leake, Jacob Leake, Layne Leake, Joshua Leake, Justin Leake, Laden Leake and Landon Ritter; five nieces, two nephews, two great nieces and two great nephews.
One brother, Ronnie Lee Leake, his sister, Sharon Ann Leake Welsh and one nephew, Jamie Lynn Dunham, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Friday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Chaplain Peter Ford officiating. Interment will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill, West Virginia.
